RLC RUFC Rugby Tour Canada / USA dated 18 Jul 16

Nearing the clubs 25th Anniversary, the RLC RUFC will conduct an overseas rugby tour to Canada and USA during period 30 Apr – 15 May 17. The club will tour with two squads, an RLC Senior XV and RLC Women’s XV squad, playing 4 fixtures a piece in Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco and Las Vegas and will deliver community engagement rugby training workshops for youth players. This tour is in recognition of the Corps ‘total rugby’ past and present achievements, attaining past Corps Champions status and the most recent accolade, at Regimental Club level as ‘Army Premiership Champions 2012 & 2016’. Tour objectives and preparation requirements were issued at Ref A and Staff Clearance obtained at Ref B.

The aim of this instruction is to provide a tour information pack detailing all administration requirements for touring personnel.

The club acknowledges the significant financial support provided by our primary sponsors BRIGGS Defence, which has made this tour affordable to all ranks. In addition to personal contributions and the club tour fund; it’s important to note the additional funding streams:

Dress and Sports Kit- All touring personnel will travel in jeans and tour polo shirts (issued 30 Apr). Playing strip will be provided


Fixtures. Current planning is for both squads to play the same rugby club on match day.

The Tour. RLC RUFC Tour 2017 Canada/USA offers a fantastic opportunity for the players and management staff of both squads to experience a truly unique and rewarding tour, in recognition of the clubs and players achievements over the years. More importantly it will continue to help set the conditions for the future, building on the positive development of women’s rugby and further strengthening the cohesiveness between the senior players. The itinerary delivers a programme of fixtures and events that will be enjoyable and challenging, whilst promoting Army Sport through rugby and community engagement within the locations of Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
