The Corps Open Day 2009

The Corps weekend saw an exhibition match between Union and League that was well received by the spectators and thanks must go to the Corps RSM, Jase Lowe, for sorting out the pitch.  The teams played one-half of each code and it was clearly more of a challenge for the union guys in adapting to the league rules but fun was had by all and it marked the beginning of greater integration and cooperation between the sports to improve performance.

The committee also ran a stall aimed at highlighting the club’s achievements over the past year as well as raising money for the Army Benevolent Fund by means of some rugby related games for the kids and a raffle for an England 7s shirt.   The games were enjoyed by over 100 kids (and big kids) and thanks must go to SSgt Stu Evans, SSgt Andy Evans and Sgt Burt Reynolds for sorting them out and WO1 Mark Bragg and Sgt Woody Woodward for sorting out the stall.  The raffle was extremely successful and raised lots of money for the ABF which totalled just over £300, including all of the donations for the games.
